BROKEN PAIN METER

Do you ever get to a level of pain, that you start lacking sympathy and empathy for other people’s pain? There is this pain meter somewhere in your head, and if that person does not top the scale then they should stop whining about their problems.

Oh, so you had your teeth pulled out? Great, I had 7 pulled out and I can’t feel my left gum.

Wow, your 5 months old baby had a stomach ulcer? Sure, mine has a brain tumor.

It gets annoying when people start to chronicle their pain and use it as an excuse for their actions, when in actual fact, it’s not anywhere high on your pain meter. Is that normal? or just me really?

At the end of the day everyone is just trudging along, believing they’ve had it worse, and doing the best they can. That’s what I’m doing.
